My favorite Chaplin is The Gold...No surprise there! My favorite Chaplin is The Gold Rush, it's the one I laugh at the most, and I relate to the character/story. That said, I think in terms of invention, pathos, and overall cohesion, this is his masterpiece. Definitely one of the great endings.
